Waylands has rebranded two Hampshire Volvo operations acquired from Cambridge Garage as the family-owned dealer group continues to expand across southern England.
Cambridge Garage Havant becomes Waylands Havant, while Cambridge Garage Petersfield now trades as Waylands Volvo Authorised Repairer Petersfield.
The new identities took effect on October 1, six months after Waylands completed the acquisition of the businesses from the Stringer family.
The transaction expanded Waylands’ Volvo representation towards the South Coast and brought more than 50 Cambridge Garage employees into the wider dealer group.
Cambridge ARC, the Stringer family’s separate accident repair business, was not included in the acquisition.
Volvo network reaches eight
The Hampshire businesses take Waylands’ Volvo network to eight locations, joining its existing dealerships in Bristol, Gloucester, Newbury, Oxford, Reading and Swindon.
Havant operates as a full sales and aftersales dealership, while Petersfield provides Volvo-approved servicing and repairs.
Waylands also operates an approved used car dealership and a separate service centre in Petersfield following further investment in the town.
The dealer group plans to install additional electric vehicle charging points at its Hampshire locations to support Volvo’s expanding range of electric cars.
Customers at Waylands showrooms can view work being carried out through internal windows overlooking the workshop.
Waylands builds Hampshire presence
John O’Hanlon, chief executive of Waylands, said: “We have had a brilliant six months welcoming Cambridge Garage Havant and Cambridge Garage Petersfield into the Waylands family. As we look ahead to the future, and to ensure consistency across our eight retailers, we’re delighted to officially rebrand them as Waylands Havant and Waylands Petersfield.
“We are thrilled to be extending our services in Hampshire and surrounding areas, and cannot wait to bring the Waylands brand to a new part of the region.
“We have a fantastic opportunity to build on the existing strong local reputations of the Cambridge Garage business, and to continue delivering the welcoming, professional and dependable experience our customers expect under the Waylands name.”
The acquisition formed part of Waylands’ wider expansion strategy, which has taken the business to more than 20 locations and around 600 employees.
The dealer group now represents eight automotive brands, including Volvo, Polestar, Honda, Kia, MG, Omoda, Jaecoo and Aion.
Waylands has also expanded its Petersfield aftersales presence through the acquisition of White Rose Service Centre, an independent Volkswagen specialist that has operated in the town for more than 40 years.
Waylands was named Volvo’s Retailer of the Year at the manufacturer’s annual awards earlier in 2026.
