Omoda and Jaecoo have passed 100,000 UK vehicle sales less than two years after the first of the two Chery-owned brands entered the market.
The milestone comes just ahead of Omoda’s second UK anniversary on August 31 and little more than 18 months after Jaecoo followed into the market in January 2025.
That rapid sales growth has been accompanied by an equally fast expansion of the brands’ dealer network, which now extends to more than 144 dealerships nationwide, helping Omoda and Jaecoo build a combined UK market share of almost 5.7%.
At the centre of that performance have been the Jaecoo 7 and Omoda 5, which together account for the vast majority of registrations so far.
Jaecoo 7 drives rapid growth
The Jaecoo 7 has become the strongest-selling model of the two brands, with more than 53,000 registrations since going on sale in February 2025.
It has remained a regular fixture in the UK’s top 10 best-selling cars since September last year, according to the company, with retail buyers accounting for 66% of registrations. Its plug-in hybrid powertrain has proved particularly important, with 75% of customers choosing the flagship SHS-P derivative.
The Omoda 5, meanwhile, laid the foundations for the sister brand’s UK expansion when it became the first model launched here in August 2024.
More than 36,500 examples have since been sold, with retail registrations accounting for 71% of the total. The range has also broadened from its original petrol offering to include full hybrid and electric versions.
Gary Lan, chief executive of Omoda and Jaecoo UK, said: “We have never shied away from the understanding that to be successful in the UK, it would require investing heavily in our people, our retailer network, and the ownership experience, and we’ve done that since day one.
“When Omoda launched, followed closely by Jaecoo, our ambition was to create two brands capable of delivering exceptional value, innovative technology and outstanding customer experiences. Surpassing 100,000 vehicle sales in under two years is a significant milestone for everyone involved. It demonstrates the strength of that proposition, the dedication of our teams and partners across the country and the trust customers have placed in our products and long-term vision.”
As sales have accelerated, Omoda and Jaecoo have widened their product line-up beyond the two models that established the brands. The portfolio now includes the Omoda 5, Omoda 7 and flagship Omoda 9, alongside the Jaecoo 5, Jaecoo 7 and recently launched Jaecoo 8.
Together they give dealerships a spread of petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains across several vehicle segments.
Network supports next phase
The rapid expansion has also required investment behind the scenes. Omoda and Jaecoo have grown their UK-based team, developed aftersales and logistics infrastructure and introduced dedicated parts hubs to support the expanding dealer network.
More recently, the brands extended RAC roadside assistance across Europe as they look to strengthen the ownership proposition alongside their sales growth.
Lan said: “The future is looking very bright for us here in the UK. The progress made over the past two years has created a strong foundation for sustained growth, and we remain focused on continuing to invest in building a business designed around the needs of British customers. That commitment remains unchanged.”
The two brands form part of Chery International UK, which is also building the Chery network and preparing for the launch of Lepas.
The car maker said that further model launches, dealer appointments and customer initiatives are planned for the remainder of 2026 as Omoda and Jaecoo look to build on their first 100,000 UK sales.
