The Welsh Government have granted permission for a major offshore wind project in Wales, which is expected to create around 2000 jobs.
The Llŷr Wind Farm, off the Pembrokeshire coast, will be an offshore wind test and demonstration project and developed by Cierco Energy.
Adam Price, Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy, said: “Major offshore wind projects such as this important scheme can be catalysts for economic growth and prosperity.
“This project marks a major milestone for Wales’ clean energy aspirations.”
Llŷr Wind Farm was granted a Marine Licence from Natural Resources Wales in June and secured the seabed rights in July after signing an Agreement for Lease with The Crown Estate.
It will contribute towards Wales’ ambitions for net zero carbon with the first power generation targeted to take place in 2031.
