Dealers can bring their teams together and support automotive colleagues facing hardship by joining Ben’s Christmas Jumper Day or sending the charity’s motoring-themed Christmas cards.
The two activities offer dealerships a simple way to combine staff engagement and customer contact with fundraising as demand for Ben’s practical, emotional and financial support increases.
Two ways dealers can take part
Ben’s Christmas Jumper Day will take place on Friday, December 11, although dealerships can choose any day during the month.
Businesses can sign up, encourage colleagues to wear their best or worst festive knitwear and donate £3 for each participant.
Dealers can also support the charity by buying Ben’s Christmas cards and festive gifts for customers, colleagues, friends or family.
Ben’s cards have featured the motoring artwork of automotive artist Richard Wheatland for 37 years. The 2026 collection includes seven designs, led by a new illustration called Winter Service alongside six returning images.
Every card or gift purchased will help Ben provide support to automotive people and their families.
Demand for Ben’s support rises
Between April and June, Ben recorded 3,463 helpline touchpoints, an increase of 8% year on year. It also delivered 2,050 support interventions, up 24%.
The charity warned that winter household costs and the added financial pressures of Christmas could make existing difficulties worse for people struggling to heat their homes, buy food or meet housing costs.
Luke Genevrier-Mallett, director of fundraising & engagement at Ben, said: “Christmas is the ideal opportunity for our automotive family to come together and have some fun while also making a real difference to people’s lives. Whether you’re wearing a Christmas jumper or sending Ben’s Christmas cards to your customers and loved ones, every bit of support helps us be there for automotive people when they need us most.
“Fundraising is vital for Ben to continue supporting those in our industry who are facing various challenges in life. When someone in our industry is struggling, we want them to know they’re not alone and that they can turn to Ben. So, this Christmas, let’s knit together, spread some cheer and make sure our automotive family knows we’re here.”
Ben is also reminding current and former automotive industry workers that its health and wellbeing support remains available to anyone who is struggling.
