East Anglia will soon welcome two onshore wind farms with the projects expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 321,000 homes every year.
Chatteris Wind Farm could also have a generating capacity of up to 126MW, while Redmere could generate up to 303MW.
Together, the Cambridgeshire developments could have up to 47 turbines and have a combined capacity of around 425MW.
Separate planning applications will be submitted for the two projects, with environmental studies and community feedback expected to help shape their designs.
Vattenfall, who are in charge of the project, says both wind farms will deliver at least a 10% biodiversity net gain over their lifetimes, with further details to be developed following environmental assessments.
The projects could also create jobs, support local businesses and generate economic benefits through business rates and community funding.
The proposals come as the UK seeks to expand renewable generation and increase domestic electricity supply.
Residents living within 3km of the proposed sites will be invited to drop-in events in October to meet the project team and discuss the plans.
