When sourcing stock from multiple sources, the associated transport can become a bit of a handful and take dealers away from the showroom. That’s why Carwow’s game-changing Collects service helps protect retailers against financial loss on mis-described vehicles purchased in its daily online auctions.
More than 6,000 retailers across the UK have used Carwow as a trusted partner for sourcing quality used stock, and bought more than 325,000 cars from the online car-changing platform since launching the service five years ago.
Carwow Collects combines the appraisal, collection and delivery of retailers’ auction wins with a built-in Assured Scheme that guards them against financial loss. It protects used car dealers against certain undisclosed mechanical and electrical faults identified post-purchase, as well as providing reimbursement if the vehicle is later found to be stolen, cloned, clocked, chipped or imported. If this happens, the retailer can make a repair or reimbursement cost up to the value of £25,000 on eligible vehicles.
Carwow enhanced its vehicle transportation service earlier this year, reducing transportation costs, with a typical movement of around 140 miles resulting in a saving of £20 per vehicle compared to the original pricing structure. Following the acceptance of a retailer’s offer for a car at auction, a trained collection agent will visit the seller to carry out thorough visual checks and a test drive, sharing detailed contextual photos with the dealer in real time via a new web portal. The agent will call the dealer while on site to discuss any issues and, if necessary, liaise directly with the seller before the transaction is completed and the vehicle is delivered, increasing transparency and reducing risk when buying remotely.
Carwow Collects has already safely delivered over 45,000 vehicles to more than 1,600 retailers nationwide since launching in 2024.
