Householders in Leicester could be set for £9,749 worth of energy savings thanks to the Warm Homes Scheme.
Up to 300 homes in Leicester’s Central postcodes, will have wall and loft insulation and the installation of solar panels and heat pumps.
The project, run by the Council in partnership with Sustainable Building Services (SBS) Fusion 21, is predicted to see properties in the city save 12.7 tonnes of CO2 emissions in the first phase.
Lucy Birch, Leicester City Council’s Energy Projects Manager said: “Our partnership allows us to extend practical support through our Winter Warmth Packs and fuel vouchers, delivered alongside trusted energy advice in community settings.
“By working together, we can reach people who need help most and provide support that is timely, targeted and easy to access.”
So far 750 households have applied for the scheme with works expected to be completed by March 2028.
