Luscombe Motors has reaffirmed its commitment to operating from one Leeds dealership as it targets turnover of more than £100 million following a record financial year.
The independent dealership said it expects to sell around 5,000 new and used vehicles, generate more than £4m in parts revenue and grow its workforce beyond 100 employees during the year ahead.
All of that growth will continue to be delivered from its three-acre dealership in Leeds rather than through the acquisition or opening additional locations.
Luscombe Motors believes concentrating its investment at one dealership creates a stronger company culture, encourages closer collaboration between departments and supports a more consistent customer experience.
Growth from one dealership
Chairman Robin Luscombe said: “People often ask why we haven’t opened more dealerships. The answer is simple. We believe concentrating our investment on one site allows us to provide a better experience for our customers, better opportunities for our staff and stronger support for our manufacturer partners.
“Our size gives us the buying power and expertise of a much larger organisation, while remaining a family business where people know each other, work together and genuinely care about the customer experience. We believe that combination is quite unique, and it continues to drive our success.”
The Leeds dealership is positioned close to the M1, M62, A1(M) and M621, enabling Luscombe Motors to serve customers and independent garages across Yorkshire and the wider region.
The company is now exploring opportunities to expand its existing headquarters as demand continues to grow.
A recent investment programme has included the opening of a 400 sq m Omoda and Jaecoo showroom, strengthening the company’s multi-franchise offering alongside MG and Suzuki.
MG remains an important source of growth, with both new and Approved Used sales increasing. Luscombe Motors expects used MG sales to remain one of its fastest-growing areas during the current financial year.
Investment supports expansion
The dealer has also completed the refurbishment of its 1,000 sq m workshop, installed a second MOT testing lane and recruited additional technicians.
It now employs more manufacturer-trained technicians than at any previous point, increasing aftersales capacity while supporting its planned sales growth.
Luscombe Motors is also targeting further expansion of its trade parts operation, which supplies MG and Suzuki components to independent garages throughout the M62 corridor.
Celebrating a record financial year ending May 31, 2026, Luscombe said: “Parts have always been in my DNA. It’s where I started, and I still understand how important it is for independent garages to receive the right parts quickly, backed up by knowledgeable people and excellent service. We see huge opportunities to grow that side of the business over the next few years.”
Luscombe Motors is also distributing £170,000 in profit-share bonuses to employees. The payment was divided equally across the workforce, regardless of employees’ roles or seniority.
Luscombe said: “This business has never been about one person. Every vehicle we sell, every service we complete, every part we deliver and every customer we look after relies on people working together. We wanted our profit share scheme to reflect that philosophy, because everyone contributes to our success and everyone deserves to share in it.
“We firmly believe that if you look after your staff, they will look after your customers. That has always been our approach and I believe it is one of the main reasons we continue to grow.”
