A share of up to £150 million is up for grabs for UK organisations to develop, deploy and operate zero emission vessels and infrastructure.
The funding from the Department for Transport will support innovative clean maritime solutions and technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in real world environments.
Successful projects, supported under the Zero Emission Vessel and Infrastructure Round 2 (ZEVI 2) competition, will be required to demonstrate their technologies for three years.
The three strands of competition will fund alternative fuel vessels, alternative fuel bunkering and storage infrastructure within ports, 100% battery electric vessels, vessel charging infrastructure, shore power and port energy infrastructure and vessel energy efficient technologies.
Project costs must be between £6 million and £60 million, with a maximum total project grant funding request of no more than £30 million, of which no more than £20 million can be allocated to a single participant.
Participant projects must start by 1st April 2027, with all grant funding claimed by 31st December 2029.
