Volkswagen Financial Services UK has launched a consumer vehicle marketplace bringing thousands of approved used cars, leasing offers and finance products together on a single platform.
Drive marks a significant expansion of VWFS UK’s digital activities, giving Volkswagen Group and aligned retailers another route to reach customers actively searching for their next vehicle.
The platform allows consumers to search thousands of approved used vehicles, the majority less than eight years old, compare monthly finance payments and access buying advice. New vehicle lease offers supplied by VWFS are also available through the marketplace.
The launch means one of the UK’s biggest automotive finance providers is moving further into the online vehicle search and buying journey rather than interacting with customers principally when finance is arranged.
New source of customers for dealers
Drive is backed by VWFS and its approved retailer network, with the company positioning the platform as a way to connect its dealer partners with more customers.
Consumers can search vehicles and compare finance products alongside reviews and buying guides, taking them from initial research towards acquiring their next car.
Dan James, chief transformation officer at Volkswagen Financial Services UK, said: “Drive is an important milestone in our digital transformation. We’ve brought together the technology and expertise to create a platform that helps customers make more confident decisions by combining vehicle choice, finance and expert guidance in one place.
“At the same time, Drive helps our retailer partners and Volkswagen Group brands connect with more customers who are actively looking for their next vehicle.
“This is only the beginning. We’re building a new generation of digital products that simplify buying, financing and owning a vehicle, delivering better experiences for consumers and retailers.”
VWFS steps up digital strategy
Drive is VWFS UK’s second major digital platform launch this year. It follows Purchase Pro, its wholesale platform aimed at trade buyers and dealerships.
Together, the two services form part of VWFS UK’s wider digital transformation strategy, spanning both consumer vehicle acquisition and the wholesale market.
The company said Drive had been designed for customers ranging from first-time buyers and those replacing an existing vehicle to consumers considering leasing.
