UK award for Water Plus customer services

It’s been named Best Business Water Retailer 2026, in the UK Enterprise Awards, building on its teams’ successes with a UK Customer Satisfaction Award in 2025 and winning Water Retailer Services Provider of the Year 2025, in the Business Elite Awards.

2026 has already seen Water Plus help manufacturers save more than £580,000 in wholesaler charges across 3 sites, alongside helping customers save thousands of pounds a week and enough water to fill 3.2 million tea cups a-day. That was in an at-scale efficiencies and customer engagement approach.*

Data loggers, installed on water meters, through Water Plus services, have also helped to save more than £638,000, in estimated annual wholesaler charges, for 3 other sites in 2026.

The customer successes follow leak detection and repair services cutting more than £4 million in estimated annual wholesaler water charges, off businesses’ and public sector bills in 2025.

That’s equivalent to 15.5 million baths in a year – or 568,229 toilet flushes a day, with each flush using 6 litres of water.**

2026 also sees Water Plus mark 10 years since it was established, which more recently’s seen further investment in the business and a move to a new main site, in the last year. It’s alongside keeping the largest proportion of customers in the market in England.***

Other winning companies in the UK awards, which are recognising pioneering solutions and success stories, were from sectors covering food and drink, health, beauty, and wellness, construction, law, software and technology.

Each entry is evaluated on criteria including business performance, customer recommendations and reviews, market impact, and visionary leadership.

Water Plus is the largest water retailer for businesses in the UK, providing a comprehensive range of services for more than 688,000 customer supply points across England and Scotland. 

These include billing and customer service, account management, meter reading, leak detection, additional water tracking and analysis technology, water saving site reviews and water efficiency device installation.

In 2026, it’s been finalists for two UK Customer Satisfaction Awards, as well as a finalist for Water Efficiency Project of the Year, in the 2026 Water Industry Awards, which also celebrate excellence.

All nominations in the UK Enterprise Awards undergo SME News’ independent and merit-based judging process, designed to recognise tangible achievement.

This ensures that every nominee is recognised for real results and meaningful contribution, rather than popularity, or size, providing a level playing field for emerging businesses and established enterprises alike.

Water Plus further invested in its operations, with a move to a new main office in February 2025, so teams can work more effectively together to deliver greater benefits and experiences for customers.

*4,660 visits completed April 2025 to March 2026, with at least 821m3 saved a-day, tracked through meter readings in 2026 taken before and after efficiency measures installed and actions in the approach.

In one month, it would mean 16.4 million litres of water would be saved, with the activity also helping build long-term actions to reduce and tackle UK water scarcity risks.

Insight and data were used to identify sites that could see the biggest benefits, including the education and healthcare sectors, with Water Plus contacting them, in the engagement and awareness raising approach to increase water-saving – and reduce impacts on the environment.

£17,302 saving in 5 days based on wholesaler water and wastewater charge of £4.22 per 1,000 litres of water, from 25/26 FY wholesaler charges (measured as 1 cubic metre of water/1m3). Cost for sites using under 50 Megalitres.

**£4.1 million is the saving on estimated wholesaler costs if the leaks, that have been located and stopped through repair or isolation, continued for 12 months. Based on water volume of 1,244,421.76m3. It covers 1st Jan 2025 to 31st Dec 2025. Baths and toilets per day saving based on 365 days in the year.
