Skoda will launch its new Epiq electric SUV in July priced from £24,950, making it the brand’s cheapest electric vehicle (EV) to date.
Skoda said the Epiq achieves price parity with its ICE equivalent, the Kamiq, as manufacturers continue efforts to broaden EV accessibility.
The Epiq will rival models including the Fiat Panda and Renault 4 and shares its platform architecture with the forthcoming Cupra Raval and Volkswagen ID2.
Measuring 4.1 metres long, the compact SUV offers a 475-litre boot and will be available with two battery and powertrain options.
The Epiq 40 uses a 37kWh usable battery paired with a 135PS electric motor, delivering a range of up to 190 miles.

The Epiq 55 features a 52kWh battery and a 211PS motor, increasing maximum range to 272 miles.
Both versions support bidirectional charging and can charge from 10% to 80% in under 25 minutes.
Klaus Zellmer, chief executive of Skoda Auto, said: “The coming Škoda Epiq will package a lot of car for an attractive price and a big interior with a compact size.
“Our customers want choices, which is why we are expanding our growing e-mobility portfolio into this popular segment.
“I hope these first design teasers demonstrate that the Epiq will shine because of its modern design, everyday range and user-friendly technologies – all of it affordable.”
The UK line-up will consist of SE L and Edition trim levels, alongside a launch-specification First Edition model.
Standard SE L equipment includes LED headlights, a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, rear parking sensors and adaptive cruise control.
Edition models add satellite navigation, electric folding mirrors, keyless entry, heated front seats, a reversing camera and wireless phone charging.
