Omoda and Jaecoo are extending seven-year warranty cover to more components and applying the improvements to every vehicle sold in the UK to date.
The changes take effect immediately and require no action from customers, giving the brands’ growing car parc greater protection against potentially expensive mechanical and electrical failures.
More parts gain full cover
The A/C compressor, alternator, brake calipers, catalytic converter, infotainment unit, exhaust system, fuel injectors, fuel pump, oil pump, shock absorbers, starter motor, track rod ends, water pump, wheel bearings and window regulators will now receive the full seven-year/100,000-mile vehicle warranty.
These components were previously covered for three years or 40,000 miles.
Cover for bushes and other rubber components as well as ball joints has also been extended from three years/40,000 miles to seven years/60,000 miles..
Backdated across the UK parc
The revised terms cover every Omoda and Jaecoo sold in the UK since launch, rather than applying only to vehicles registered after the announcement.
Omoda and Jaecoo said the decision followed an examination of customer feedback and real-world ownership information collected since entering the UK market two years ago.
Victor Zhang, managing director of Omoda and Jaecoo UK, said: “The UK is one of the most competitive automotive markets in the world, and from day one we’ve been committed to listening to our customers and continually improving the ownership journey. After two years of learning from our growing customer base and retailer network, we’ve reviewed our warranty offering and made it even stronger.
“By extending cover on a wider range of components – and applying those changes to every Omoda and Jaecoo we’ve sold in the UK – we’re demonstrating our long-term commitment to our customers while reinforcing our confidence in the quality, engineering and reliability of our vehicles.”
Omoda and Jaecoo now have a nationwide network of more than 140 UK dealerships and have built a 5.7% market share with 100,000 cars sold in the UK in under two years.
