Hyundai Motor UK has appointed AX Motor Assist and Avant to run new accident management and approved bodyshop programmes from December.

The programmes will provide Hyundai owners with a single point of contact for accident support, recovery, repairs and replacement mobility, regardless of their insurer.

The appointments form part of Hyundai’s aftersales strategy to support its car dealer network and maintain customer relationships through servicing, maintenance and accident repairs.

AX Motor Assist will be Hyundai’s accident management partner, while Avant will manage its approved bodyshop programme.

Single point of contact after an incident

A dedicated team will coordinate the claim, vehicle recovery, repair and any replacement vehicle, providing customers with updates at key stages.

Replacement vehicles and other mobility options will be considered early in the process and matched as closely as possible to customers’ requirements.

Owen Shepherd, director of aftersales at Hyundai Motor UK, said: “Our customers rightly expect a simple, reassuring and high-quality experience when the unexpected happens.”

He described the partnerships with AX Motor Assist and Avant as a significant step forward in supporting Hyundai owners following an accident.

Shepherd added: “By bringing together specialist accident management expertise and a strengthened manufacturer-approved repair programme, we are creating a more seamless journey that keeps drivers informed, gets vehicles repaired correctly and helps customers get back on the road as quickly as possible.”

Manufacturer-approved repair network

Under the arrangement, vehicles will be directed to Hyundai-approved bodyshops using genuine parts and manufacturer-approved repair methods.

Avant has more than two decades of experience developing and managing manufacturer body and paint programmes.

Mark Johnstone, group managing director at Avant, said: “Throughout the process we saw a brand at an exciting point in its development, with a genuine commitment to investing in and supporting its repair network – an ambition that aligns closely with our own.

“Working with Hyundai, we look forward to delivering a high-performing, manufacturer-approved network that supports Hyundai’s ambitions, repair quality and customer satisfaction.”

Dominic Anderson-Gordon, head of AX Motor Assist, added: “Our focus is on delivering a fast, transparent and customer-centric experience, supported by innovative technology, expert claims handling and a commitment to keeping customers mobile throughout their repair journey.”
