Dealers will open order books next week for the UK’s cheapest electric new car, the Dacia Spring, with a special reveal planned for London’s flagship Dacia dealership.

The Dacia Spring will be priced from £14,995 and the five-door electric supermini will have a fully-charged range of up to 137 miles (WLTP mixed cycle).

Sales commence on June 4, with Dacia UK brand director Luke Broad set to give it the green flag at the launch of Dacia London West, the brand’s new flagship dealership beside the A4 at Brentford which is being run by Renault Retail Group.

Up to June 4 Dacia UK is incentivising consumers to place a pre-order of the Spring with a £99 online deposit offer plus a complimentary £250 towards accessories, public charging or a home charging point through Mobilize Power Solutions, a division of Renault Group.

Broad said: “Combining the official opening of Spring orders with our flagship retailer on June 4 reaffirms Dacia’s commitment to the UK. It strongly underlines how we continually innovate and invest to give the country’s car buyers what they want and need.

“We invite everyone to join us and can’t wait to give visitors an exclusive first look at our game-changing EV.”

Standard features on the Expression trim include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, media control system with USB port, speed limiter, cruise control, rear parking sensors, and more, offering convenience and comfort for drivers.

The Extreme trim, exclusive to the more powerful version of the Dacia Spring, features copper finishes, Media Nav Live multimedia system with a 10-inch centre screen, and wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Dacia London West occupies a purpose-built facility at West Cross Industrial Park equipped with solar panels and many fixtures and fittings constructed from recycled plastic and tyres.

“As well as being amongst the first to see the UK’s most affordable new electric car in the metal, visitors to Dacia London West will also have the chance to check out how the brand’s newest and most impressive site is designed to offer car buyers the very best retail experience,” said a Dacia UK spokesman.

Owned by Renault Group, the Dacia brand entered the UK in 2013 to provide low cost new cars and has since achieved more than 250,000 new car sales.

In 2023 Dacia UK introduced a new range of digital sales tools to work alongside newly appointed “Guides” as part of a new omnichannel customer journey after its research found that half of consumers were uncomfortable with the prospect of purchasing a car online for a range of reasons including not being able to physically see a car and concerns about the lack of human interaction to help with their purchase decision.

The brand said the omnichannel tools would work alongside the Dacia dealer network to blend offline and online.

One of the new digital additions was the ability to instantly view every new Dacia that is available immediately, and those available within several weeks, reserving the chosen model for £99. The car is held for three days to ensure customers have the space to thoroughly consider their decision.

After answering any queries and showing the customer the model of car that they have reserved in the Dacia Live showroom, the guide will put them in direct contact with their chosen retailer to complete the sale or continue to buy online with finance from Mobilize Financial Services.
