Fix Auto Loughborough has been approved as an official Tesla repairer following investment in equipment, training and facilities.
The Leicestershire bodyshop becomes the latest site in the Fix Auto UK network to secure the accreditation, joining Tesla’s authorised repair programme after meeting its technical and safety requirements.
The business already holds a wide range of manufacturer approvals, including across the Stellantis and Volkswagen Group brand portfolios. The latest approval follows similar accreditations achieved by Fix Auto sites in Caldicot and Stoke-on-Trent last year.
Tesla approval requires repairers to meet strict criteria around tooling, technician training and processes, particularly for electric vehicle repair and battery safety.
Owner Paul Smith said the move reflects the growing importance of EV capability within the business: “It has long been said EVs are integral to the future of cars and Teslas are certainly pivotal to that notion.”
He said that while the site has been repairing EVs for some time, gaining official status ensures work is carried out to the required standard.
Smith said: “We needed to be fully immersed in the process to ensure every EV is repaired safely and what better way to ensure we meet those requirements than to gain official status from Tesla itself. It’s yet another proud moment for the business.”
Bodyshop manager Terry McCarthy said securing a manufacturer approval focused on EVs has been part of the site’s long-term strategy.
McCarthy said: “Securing OEM approval for an EV specific car manufacturer has long been part of our future strategy to safeguard the business and we have long had Tesla in our sights.”
He described the process as “long, thorough and expensive” but added that achieving approval was a significant milestone.
McCarthy added: “Gaining the official seal of approval from Tesla doesn’t come lightly so we are extremely proud of what we have achieved.”
