AtkinsRéalis has secured a major new framework agreement with EDF and Sizewell C Limited to support the next phase of the UK’s nuclear energy programme, strengthening efforts to deliver reliable low-carbon electricity and reduce emissions.
The agreement extends AtkinsRéalis’ long-standing work across EDF’s operational nuclear fleet and the Hinkley Point C new build project for an initial five-year term, with the option to extend for a further five years. The framework also includes engineering services for the Sizewell C nuclear programme.
The appointment comes as the UK continues investing in low-carbon power generation to strengthen energy security and support long-term decarbonisation goals.
Nuclear energy is expected to play a key role alongside renewables by providing stable electricity generation while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
Under the framework, AtkinsRéalis will deliver support across more than 60 technical and project delivery disciplines, including engineering, design, consultancy and programme management.
The agreement also supports knowledge sharing between Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, helping improve efficiency and accelerate delivery of future low-carbon infrastructure projects across the UK nuclear sector.
