More than 300 business leaders are set to gather to discuss urgent action to protect security, resilience and economic stability in the face of increased disruption caused by climate and nature breakdown.

The first People’s Emergency Briefing on the 24th November will see business heavyweights from a range of sectors come together to hear evidence on what the breakdown means for UK organisations.

The event, hosted by entrepreneur and TV personality Deborah Meaden, will centre around a film based on the National Emergency Briefing, discussion with experts and information on core threats facing businesses.

Threats include extreme weather disruption, supply chain and food security vulnerabilities, public health strains and economic and cost-of-living impacts.

Ms Meaden said: “Delaying never pays – it always costs more. On our current path, climate disruption and biodiversity loss present immense operational and financial risks to every sector of the UK economy.

“Business leaders cannot afford to look away; we need to face the facts directly, understand where things are heading, and step up with clear, collective action to protect our economic and ecological future.”

The briefing will also provide a clear framework for how businesses, executives and professionals can shift from climate anxiety to systemic action and challenge existing plans.

It aims to empower attendees to take proactive measures within their organisations, demand systemic regulatory action, and help build long-term economic stability.
