Farmers will soon receive support from new Robotics Adoption Hubs, which are being rolled out across the UK.
The centres will be stationed in Newcastle, the South West, Milton Keynes and South Wales, bringing automated fruit picking. Labour say this will cut the amount of time it takes to complete the harvest.
The hubs will offer expert advice, support to help users chose the correct technology and real-world demonstrations.
Among the other projects being supported, a dedicated hub in the South East will test automation to help improve how we manage waste and recycling.
Milton Keynes will see the rollout of service robots, drones and driverless vehicles, bringing new technologies into transport, logistics and delivery services.
Government estimations say that robotics and automated systems could add £150 billion to the UK economy by 2035, if adoption is maximised. However, the current adoption rate puts the estimations at £6.4 billion.
