A Queensland manufacturer has identified more than $178,000 (£131,000) in potential annual savings through energy efficiency measures, highlighting the financial opportunities that can sit alongside sustainability.
The figure comes from an early pilot of Schneider Electric’s Decarbonisation Champion Programme, which is being expanded globally in partnership with carbon accounting platform Greenly.
The manufacturer identified potential savings through measures including improving air system efficiency, shifting energy loads and optimising equipment.
The expanded programme will give participating businesses access to tools for measuring and reporting Scope 1 and 2 emissions, alongside sustainability training and consultancy.
Schneider Electric said the programme provides an estimated $34,000 (£25,000) in annual value to each participating partner through the combination of software, training and support.
The company said the initiative is intended to help SMEs respond to increasing demands for emissions data while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
The programme is now being rolled out globally through Schneider Electric’s partner network.
