Hendy Group has doubled its BYD network to four dealerships with the opening of new showrooms in Crawley and Poole and moving its Tonbridge operation into a substantially larger facility.
The AM100 dealer group has refurbished existing premises for the two additional franchises, while the expanded Tonbridge dealership gains more showroom space and upgraded aftersales facilities.
Hendy’s established BYD operation in Christchurch remains part of the network, giving the group four points across southern England.
Staff at the three newly developed facilities have undergone BYD training to support sales and aftersales customers across the Chinese manufacturer’s expanding UK range.
Crawley and Poole add coverage
The Crawley showroom has opened at Manor Royal Business Park alongside Hendy’s existing Nissan dealership and Ford Transit Centre.
The multi-brand location will provide BYD sales and aftersales support while expanding Hendy’s existing presence in the town.
In Poole, the group has created a dedicated BYD showroom at its Wallisdown Road premises.
Together with the existing dealership in Christchurch, the opening makes Hendy the sole BYD representative in Dorset.
The dealerships will display models ranging from the Dolphin electric hatchback to the Seal U DM-i plug-in hybrid SUV, currently BYD’s UK bestseller.
Tonbridge gains larger workshop
Hendy said it has moved its Tonbridge BYD dealership just over a mile from Avebury Avenue to Brook Farm on Five Oak Green Road following stronger local demand for the brand.
The replacement facility provides more display space for new and used vehicles, additional customer parking and expanded aftersales capacity.
It also includes a new workshop and paint and body repair centre, allowing the dealership to provide BYD-authorised servicing, maintenance, repairs and MOT testing.

Hendy employs more than 1,500 people and represents 22 automotive brands across southern England. The group is ranked 18th in the AM100 after reporting turnover of just over £1 billion in 2024.
