Swansway Motor Group is investing several million pounds in a new fleet super hub with capacity for up to 3,000 vehicles.
The purpose-built facility in Wardle, near Nantwich, will centralise vehicle storage, pre-delivery inspection and preparation for Swansway’s expanding fleet division.
It is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2027 and is intended to increase the speed and volume at which vehicles can be prepared and delivered to customers across the UK.
The investment comes as Swansway Fleet reports growing demand from SMEs, national organisations and leasing partners, including rising interest in electrified company vehicles.
Centralised fleet preparation
The development will provide substantial storage capacity alongside dedicated pre-delivery inspection facilities.
Bringing storage and PDI activity together in one location is intended to give Swansway greater control over vehicle preparation and delivery while providing capacity for further growth. The hub will support customers throughout the supply process, including vehicle sourcing, inspection, preparation and delivery.
Swansway Motor Group fleet director Sarah Eccles said: “The creation of our new Fleet Super Hub represents one of the most significant investments we’ve made in our fleet operation and demonstrates our confidence in the future of the division.
“We continue to see strong demand from businesses looking for flexible, reliable fleet solutions, alongside growing interest in electrified vehicle fleets. This investment will give us the infrastructure, capacity and operational efficiency needed to support future demand, for many years to come.”
The 3,000-vehicle capacity will allow the group to handle larger fleet orders and provide the scalability needed to work with a broader range of business and leasing customers.
It also gives Swansway a dedicated fleet operation separate from its dealership network, reducing the need for high-volume storage and preparation to be accommodated at individual dealerships.
Built for electrified fleets
The new hub will incorporate rooftop solar panels and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. These facilities will allow electric vehicles to be charged during preparation and before delivery, supporting Swansway’s anticipated growth in electrified fleet orders.
Eccles added: “Importantly, the development has been designed with sustainability in mind, supporting our environmental responsibilities while creating a modern, future ready facility that supports both our customers and colleagues.”
The family-owned dealer group operates 30 dealerships across the North West, Midlands and North Wales, alongside its Swansway Fleet, Motor Match and accident repair businesses.
The value of the investment and the expected number of jobs at the new Wardle facility have not been disclosed.
