Audi has unveiled the Q9, a new flagship SUV for its model range.
The model measures 5.31m long, 2.21m wide and 1.81m tall, with a 3.14m wheelbase, making it the largest Audi of all time.
It will be available with either seven or six seats, with individual electric seats in the second row.
Audi says the Q9 will see it offering automatic doors for the first time – controllable via the MyAudi mobile app – along with its largest-ever panoramic sunroof.

The interior will also feature an 11.9-inch Virtual Cockpit display, a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display with anti-distraction technology, all as standard. The infotainment system is based on Android Automotive, and there’s also ChatGPT voice integration.
Exterior features include curved digital OLED rear lights, and alloy wheels measuring up to 23 inches in diameter. The Q9 will also feature indicators which project directional arrows onto the ground.

Diesel mild hybrid powertrain
At launch, the model will come with a 3.0-litre, 299PS mild hybrid diesel engine, with eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The mild hybrid system, comprising a generator, a belt alternator starter and a lithium iron phosphate battery, will be able to assist the diesel engine with up to 370Nm of torque and 24PS of power when setting off and overtaking.
Adaptive air suspension will be standard, with continuously variable damping and adjustable ride height. An all-wheel steering system will allow the rear wheels to turn by up to five degrees, in the opposite direction to the front wheels at low speed to improve manoeuvrability, and in the same direction as the front wheels at high speed to aid stability.
Orders for the Q9 are due to open at the end of August, when full UK specs and prices will also be announced. The first deliveries are expected by the end of the year.
