Geely has expanded its UK line-up with a new long range version of the EX5, badged Ultra.
The new variant uses a larger 68kWh battery, increasing WLTP range to a claimed 280 miles. It sits above the existing range, which continues with a 60kWh battery offering up to 267 miles.
The Ultra is based on the range-topping Max trim and carries over its specification, while adding the larger battery and a 750kg braked towing capacity supported by Trailer Stability Assist.
All EX5 models are front-wheel-drive and use a 218PS electric motor.

Pricing for the Ultra starts from £38,990, positioning it above the Max at £36,990. Entry-level SE models start from £31,990.
Across the range, standard equipment includes a 15.4-inch infotainment screen, 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, heated seats and steering wheel, and a suite of driver assistance systems. Higher trims add features such as a panoramic sunroof, head-up display and upgraded audio.
Michael Yang, managing director of Geely Auto UK, said the new variant responds to market demand.
He said: “The launch of the Geely EX5 Ultra marks yet another important step forward for Geely Auto in the UK.
“We’ve listened to customer and retailer feedback and responded with a model that offers greater range, higher specification and increased everyday usability, while remaining true to our commitment to outstanding value.”
He said the company had balanced range gains against efficiency impacts.
Yang added that all versions of the EX5 are covered by an eight-year warranty, covering both the vehicle and battery.
