The Vauxhall Grandland range has been expanded with the addition of a plug-in hybrid powertrain with prices starting from £36,615 – matching the cost of the standard hybrid variant.
The addition completes the Grandland range, which now spans fully electric, plug-in hybrid and 48V hybrid powertrains, giving customers a broader mix of options depending on usage and cost considerations.
Price parity boosts appeal
Crucially for dealers, the plug-in hybrid achieves price parity with the standard hybrid version, a move likely to support stronger uptake among company car drivers and private buyers weighing total cost of ownership.

The model delivers an all-electric range of up to 51 miles (WLTP combined), placing it in a favourable tax position with a 10% benefit-in-kind rate for the 2026/27 financial year. In hybrid mode, the 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine works with the electric motor to balance efficiency and longer-distance usability, supported by a 55-litre fuel tank.
Spec and tech drive value
Available in Design, GS and Ultimate trims, the Grandland plug-in hybrid mirrors the broader range’s specification strategy, with strong standard equipment aimed at supporting showroom competitiveness.
Across the line-up, the SUV features a 10-inch digital driver display and infotainment touchscreen, rising to a 16-inch system on higher trims. Wireless smartphone integration and advanced driver assistance systems as standard.
Top-spec Ultimate models add features including Intelli-Lux HD headlights, a head-up display, 360-degree camera and semi-automated driving functions via Intelli-Drive 2.0 and comfort features such as Intelli-Seat ergonomics.
With 225PS and 350Nm of torque, the plug-in hybrid accelerates from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds while emitting 55g/km of CO2. Efficiency is rated at up to 117.7mpg (WLTP), reinforcing its positioning as a low-emissions alternative without compromising performance.
Charging flexibility is also a key selling point, with a standard 3.7kW onboard charger and optional 7.4kW upgrade reducing charge times to under three hours on suitable AC infrastructure.
At 4,650mm in length and offering up to 1,645 litres of load space, the Grandland remains positioned as a practical family SUV, with the plug-in hybrid variant adding electrified capability without sacrificing usability.
All versions are priced below the £40,000 threshold for the Expensive Car Supplement, further strengthening its value proposition.
