Leapmotor has announced UK prices and specs for the range extender version of its B10 medium SUV.
The new variant, badged Hybrid EV will sit in the B10 range alongside the fully electric version of the model which was launched last year.
It features a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which instead of directly driving the wheels is used to drive a 50kW generator, charging an 18.8kWh battery. This battery, which can also be charged conventionally via an EV charger (a 30-80% charge will be possible in 20 minutes with a DC rapid charger), offers a provisional EV-only range of up to 50 miles on the WLTP cycle.
The battery sends power to a 218PS electric motor – the same as fitted to the full EV B10 – which drives the rear wheels. The powertrain offers a provisional WLTP CO2 emissions figure of 21g/km.

One trim option with B10 Hybrid EV
Leapmotor – the Chinese brand 51% owned by Stellantis – says the B10 Hybrid EV will be offered with a single trim level option, priced at £31,495. This is the same on-the-road price as the full EV version, although that is also available with the £1,500 ‘Leap Grant’.
Standard equipment with the range extender version will include a panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled ‘eco leather’ front seats, 18in alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera system, a heated steering wheel, a 12-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, a 14.6in HD central floating touchscreen and an 8.8in digital instrument cluster.
Driver assistance systems will include advanced emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, cyclist door open warning and adaptive cruise control.
Functions controllable via the Leapmotor app will include remote air conditioning, central locking, steering wheel heating and electric seat heating or ventilating.
The B10 Hybrid EV is the second range extender model in the Leapmotor line-up, following on from the larger C10.
Orders for the B10 Hybrid EV will open this summer.
