Volkswagen has provided a first glimpse of its highly anticipated entry-level electric vehicle, the ID. Every1 car.
With a planned starting price of around €20,000, the production version is set to enter the market in 2027,
Designed specifically for Europe it is part of the manufacturer’s Electric Urban Car Family built on the latest version of Volkswagen’s modular electric drive platform and will follow the ID. 2all in 2026, positioned in the €25,000-price range.
Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said the ID. Every1 was of strategic importance to the manufacturer: “This model completes our roadmap towards the broadest model lineup in the volume segment. We aim to provide every customer with the right car and the right drive system, including an affordable all-electric option. Our goal is to be the world’s leading high-volume manufacturer by 2030.”
Volkswagen’s new software architecture will allow continuous updates throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle embodying its concept of the car being able to adapt over time and to meet owner preferences.
Volkswagen design chief Andreas Mindt describes the ID. Every1 as “bold yet accessible,” blending a confident appearance with friendly design elements such as dynamic front lights and a distinctive rear. The compact vehicle measures 3,880 mm in length—positioned between the former Up! and the current Polo – with a luggage capacity of 305 litres.
The ID. Every1 will be powered by a newly developed 70 kW (95 PS) electric motor, delivering a top speed of 130 km/h and a range of at least 250 kilometres.
Volkswagen’s future plans include launching nine new models by 2027, with four of them based on the new front-wheel-drive MEB platform.
