Unicorn Systems has successfully completed the implementation of a “15-minute resolution project” in the XBMS system for ADMIE, achieving an important milestone in European energy market operations. This upgrade introduces key modifications to the system registers, enabling ADMIE to easily configure time resolution across the entire platform. From user interface data visualisation to the generation and exchange of data files, the new capabilities ensure operational data are handled seamlessly.
XBMS System
The upgraded XBMS system now provides ADMIE with simplified register switching, improved ability to react immediately to changes on the energy market, and the specific needs of the company’s partners.
It offers an optimal balance of simplicity and flexibility, allowing easy system setup and full alignment with client-specific data management, visualisation, and reporting needs for smooth control of real-time operations.
With this innovation, ADMIE can now compose tailored data resolutions for each of its partners, fully aligning every collaboration to maximise efficiency and streamline the involved business processes.
With advanced process automation and monitoring tools, ADMIE ensures effective control over all data, reports, and files – making publication and sharing with individual market participants quick and easy.
15-minute Market Time
Business Go-Live was passed on September 30, 2025, thus promoting the XBMS system to a more adaptable platform capable of supporting the complex needs of all ADMIE business partners across the entire energy sector. This successful deployment allows ADMIE to roll out the 15-minute market time unit across the European Day-Ahead (SDAC, Single Day-Ahead Coupling) and Intraday Continuous & Intraday Auction (SIDC, Single Intraday Coupling) markets, supporting efforts to harmonise and unify energy market operations across Europe.
Beyond the technological improvement, the upgrade strengthens ADMIE’s operational processes. Faster response times to market changes, improved data processing, and increased efficiency across all business operations are among the main benefits delivered by this innovation.
As part of the 15-minute resolution project, the XBMS system provides full support for continuous trading on the XBID platform, including both implicit and explicit auctions. It also enables real-time monitoring, automated auction specifications and results reception, precise calculations for available capacities, and efficiently processed cross-border nominations. The whole system provides clients with advanced tools to manage and coordinate trading operations quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
The longstanding partnership between ADMIE and Unicorn demonstrates Unicorn’s ability to deliver even the most complex system enhancements to meet client expectations. In this manner, Unicorn demonstrates its stable position in the energy market, while proving that Damas MMS:E will remain a leading platform in the European energy sector.
