The recently opened BYD dealership in Hampshire is set to undergo a significant refurbishment as dealer group Snows Motor Group moves to upgrade facilities.
The retailer opened the Waterlooville showroom and workshop shortly before Christmas.
Work will begin next month to remodel the premises, bringing the site up to the brand’s latest retail standards and creating a purpose-built environment for customers and staff.
The transformation will introduce a redesigned showroom capable of displaying up to 14 new vehicles, alongside a modernised workshop and a dedicated customer lounge area.
Expansion of BYD network
The Waterlooville upgrade reflects Snows’ continued expansion with BYD, one of the fastest-growing electric vehicle brands in the UK market.
Snows currently represents the manufacturer at six locations across southern and south-west England.
Alongside Waterlooville, the group operates BYD dealerships in Basingstoke, Honiton, Newbury and Southampton, with a further site recently opened in Chichester.
A Snows spokesperson said: ‘‘‘Our Waterlooville site got off to a fantastic start and interest is increasing all the time. The team are operating in temporary surroundings at the moment but all that is about to change.
‘‘The plans we have in place will create something really special for Snows BYD customers in Waterlooville and the surrounding area – and the dealership will remain open throughout the process.’’
Investment in EV retail experience
The redesigned showroom will showcase BYD’s expanding range of electric and hybrid vehicles, with space for 14 models inside the dealership once the refurbishment is complete.
Sales executive Mike Waterhouse explained: ‘‘The great thing about BYD is that there is something for everyone – they make city cars, estates, saloons, SUVs – and a pick-up will be joining the line-up later this year. For customers not quite ready to go fully electric, hybrid alternatives are available too.’’
BYD recorded a strong year in the UK market during 2025, achieving 51,422 registrations to become the sixth best-selling car brand in the country.
At Snows BYD Waterlooville, customers will also have access to a full aftersales offering, including servicing, repairs and MOTs carried out by trained technicians.
