Škoda has revealed further details of its new all-electric Peaq SUV, confirming the seven-seat flagship will arrive this summer, offering a 370-mile range.

Based on the Vision 7S concept, the Peaq will be built on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit platform in Mladá Boleslav and will sit at the top of the Czech brand’s electric line-up.

The carmaker said the Peaq will be its largest and most spacious model, measuring nearly 4.9 metres long with seating for seven adults. Boot space stands at 299 litres with all seats in place and rises to 890 litres with the third row folded, while a 37-litre frunk adds extra storage.

Electric flagship arrives

The Peaq adopts the latest expression of Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, including an illuminated Tech-Deck Face, full LED Matrix headlights and alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches. Ten paint finishes will be offered.

Inside, five interior designs are available including Sportline and two Suite Design Selection variants finished in leather alternative Techtona.

The optional Relax Package adds AGR-certified relax seats with massage, adjustable leg rests, front pillows, a foldable table and a wellness app with six modes that synchronise climate, ambient lighting and seat massage settings.

The Peaq also becomes the first Škoda to feature a premium audio system developed with Sonos.

Home power, fast charging

Customers will be able to choose from three powertrain variants, badged 60, 90 and 90x, with outputs ranging from 150kW to 220kW. Škoda said the 90 and 90x deliver a range of more than 600 kilometres, while DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes 28 minutes. The 60 completes the same charge in 27 minutes. The all-wheel-drive 90x will accelerate from 0-60m/h in 6.7 seconds.

Among the headline technology features is bidirectional charging. The Peaq supports vehicle-to-load for powering external devices such as e-bikes or caravans, while the new Ambibox DC Wallbox by Moon Power enables vehicle-to-home functionality so the car can potentially supply energy to the owner’s home or business once coverage extends to the UK.

Škoda has also confirmed a new Android-based infotainment system with native and third-party apps plus a digital mobile key allowing smartphone or smartwatch to become an alternative key.

The dashboard features a 10-inch driver display and a new 13.6-inch vertical infotainment screen while an augmented reality head-up display will be an option.

New features making their production debut in a Škoda include flush door handles, washer-integrated wiper blades and a panoramic sunroof with Dynamic Shade Control. Divided into nine segments, the electrochromic roof is the largest panoramic roof ever fitted to a Škoda model.

Further Simply Clever features include a Dual Phonebox with wireless charging of up to 25W, an electric roller shutter in the luggage compartment, a display cleaner, a ticket holder, a USB socket in the interior mirror and a USB port in the third row.

A Sportline version will be available from launch, bringing black exterior detailing, standard 20-inch alloy wheels, sports seats, aluminium pedals and a more performance-focused cabin design.
