Renault Trucks has published an open-source map showing public charging hubs for electric heavy goods vehicles across Europe, giving operators an up-to-date view of where their fleets can plug in today and where new capacity is coming next.

The company says the tool demonstrates that low carbon road freight is moving from promise to practice, with infrastructure already in place along key corridors to support efficient long-distance operations.

The map is refreshed regularly and lists nearly 500 hubs suitable for trucks: 191 truck-specific operational charging hubs, 157 operational charging hubs compatible with trucks, and 135 additional truck-specific hubs in the pipeline.

Locations are concentrated along trans-European routes so drivers can recharge during mandated rest breaks without harming productivity.

Coverage already spans major arteries. On the North Sea – Baltic corridor from Amsterdam to Warsaw, 13 truck-dedicated stations are identified, including 7 under construction or planned.

The Rhine-Alpine corridor from Rotterdam to Genoa shows 13 hubs, with 3 being deployed. Beyond these, many mixed-use high-power sites can also accommodate heavy-duty vehicles.

Renault Trucks adds that megawatt-class chargers are approaching commercial reality, which will enable rapid top-ups in minutes for next-generation battery trucks and further smooth long-haul duty cycles.

Renault Trucks says the new map is intended to give operators line-of-sight on today’s capabilities, reduce perceived risk and support planning for fleet electrification.
