Polestar commercial chief steps down after two-year transformation

Kristian Elvefors has announced he is stepping down as chief commercial officer at Polestar after two years leading a transformation of the brand’s commercial operations.

He will be taking on an as yet unnnounced new role “after taking time off to recharge”.

Elvefors said his remit on joining Polestar was to transform and scale the commercial business to support the company’s next phase of growth.

He said this included building a stronger sales culture, reshaping the commercial operating model into a dealer-based structure while retaining direct elements, and expanding the brand’s global commercial footprint.

In a post on LinkedIn, Elvefors said: “Together with an incredible global team, we’ve built a strong sales culture, fundamentally reshaped the commercial operating model into a dealer-based but still direct setup, and significantly expanded our global commercial footprint.”

He added that Polestar is now “a very different commercial organisation than it was two years ago”, and said he was proud not only of the structural changes delivered, but also of the shift in mindset and capability across the business.

Polestar’s global sales director Scott Dicken has been promoted to take on the role of CCO.

Elvefors added: “Polestar is in great hands, and I’m confident Scott will continue to build on the momentum we’ve created together.”

Dicken now joins Polestar’s executive committee following his promotion to CCO.

He said: “I’ve had the privilege of helping build Polestar’s European business from the ground up and, more recently, leading our global sales organisation.

“Throughout that journey, one thing has remained constant: my belief in the strength of our brand, the unrivalled passion and ambition of our people, and the scale of the opportunity ahead of us.

“I’d like to sincerely thank my predecessor, Kristian Elvefors for his leadership, support and friendship.

“His impact on how we sell, partner, and grow has been significant.

“As I step into this role, my focus will be on continuing to strengthen our commercial execution globally – working closely with our markets, retailers, and partners to drive sustainable growth and deliver brand-defining experiences for our customers.

“I’m excited for what’s ahead, and grateful to be part of this journey with such a committed and talented team.”
