The Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) has awarded £2.4 million to nine UK supply chain companies to help scale up their operations and strengthen offshore wind delivery across the country.
The funding comes through OWGP’s Development Funding programme and aims to support firms working on projects that match Industrial Growth Plan priorities.
The successful applications focus on areas including electrical systems, cables, foundations, substructures, smart environmental surveys, installations and operations and maintenance.
All applications were assessed through a detailed evaluation process that prioritised near-to-market solutions, clear customer engagement and strong ambitions for growth.
The companies receiving support are Airspection Limited, BPP Cables Limited, Fennex Ltd, HydroSurv Unmanned Survey UK Ltd, Innovair Limited, Kinewell Energy Ltd, MJR Controls Limited, SeaThor Limited and Slipform Engineering Ltd.
Andy Simmonds, Director of SeaThor, said: “Receiving support from OWGP marks another exciting step forward for SeaThor. This funding enables us to finalise the development and commercial readiness of our CableSpring technology.”
Minoo Patel, Director of BPP Cables Limited, said: “OWGP funding will enable BPP to accelerate the development of next-generation water-blocking layer designs.”
Lynne McIntosh-Grieve, Head of Programme Delivery at OWGP, said: “It is wonderful to announce the companies selected through our latest Development Funding programme.”
