Nissan has announced that some versions of its Micra electric supermini now qualify for the Government’s full £3,750 Electric Car Grant.
The full grant will apply to versions of the Micra with the 52kWh extended range battery.
The first UK deliveries of this variant are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks, with prices including the grant starting at £23,245 with the Advance trim level, rising to £26,115 with the range-topping Evolve spec.
Versions of the Micra with the 40kWh battery continue to qualify for the lower-level £1,500 grant, including which they are priced from £21,495 with the entry-level Engage trim, and £23,495 in Advance spec.
Micras with the 52kWh battery can cover up to 257 miles between charges according to official WLTP data. The respective figure for 40kWh versions is 196 miles.

New battery supplier secures full Electric Car Grant
The Government’s current Electric Car Grant scheme was introduced last year, and is applicable to new EVs priced at or under £37,000 which meet eligibility criteria. Manufacturers must apply for their cars to be included.
Sustainable manufacturing is one of the factors that make up grant eligibility, and Nissan credits the 52kWh Micra’s new Europe-sourced battery – the car is built at the ElectriCity car production hub in northern France – as the reason it qualifies for the full grant.
James Taylor, managing director of Nissan GB, said: “Our new battery supplier means our longer-range Micra 52kWh now qualifies for the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant, ensuring great value for money for our customers.
“It also means that both of our new model launches so far this year – Micra and Leaf – are available with the maximum EV grant discount, demonstrating Nissan’s continued leadership in providing accessible and exciting electric cars for people keen to switch to zero emission motoring.”
Along with the Nissan Micra and Leaf, other EV models with variants eligible for the full grant include the Alpine A290, Citroen e-C5 Aircross, Ford E-Tourneo Courier, Ford Puma Gen-E, Mini Countryman, Renault 4 and Renault 5.
New PCP deals for Micra
Along with the news on grant eligibility, Nissan has also announced revised PCP deals for the Micra.
Monthly payments are now set at £293 for a 40kWh Engage model, £311 for a 40kWh Advance, £333 for a 52kWh Advance, and £372 for a 52kWh Evolve (rates are based on a 48-month contract, 6,000-mile annual limit and £1,500 customer deposit).
