RenewableUK has confirmed Laura Fleming as its new Chair and Tristan Zipfel as Vice Chair of its Board of Directors. The appointments were made at a board meeting on 2nd September.
Fleming, Country Managing Director for Hitachi Energy UK and Ireland, and Zipfel, Director of Strategy, Markets and Investments at EDF power solutions UK and Ireland, have both served on the Board for several years.
Their new leadership roles come at a critical time, as the association develops a fresh strategy and begins the search for a new Chief Executive.
Ms Fleming said: “I am committed to accelerating the shift towards smarter, more resilient power systems. RenewableUK has played a significant role in putting renewables at the forefront. I look forward to shaping the next stage of our journey to deliver CP2030.”
Zipfel added: “It is an honour to step into the Vice Chair role at such a crucial moment. I look forward to working with Laura, Jane and our members to keep the sector moving forward.”
The new leadership team steps in as the industry prepares for upcoming auction rounds and aims to deliver on the UK’s ambitious climate targets.
