A rebrand is under way at one of the UK’s ID10 largest used car dealers as it prepares for growth.

CarSupermarket.com is adopting the new branding to reflect its ownership by Aramis Group, the France-headquartered business which operates used car dealerships in six European countries under the brands AramisAuto, BrumBrum, Cardoen, CarSupermarket, Clicars and Onlinecars. Stellantis is a majority shareholder of Aramis Group.

The rebrand of all 12 CarSupermarket.com showrooms and collection centres is expected to be completed by the autumn, and a 13th dealership opening is in the pipeline.

Originally known as Motor Depot until its rebrand as CarSupermarket.com. the company currently runs dealerships spanning from Hessle and Newcastle on the north-east coast to Birmingham and Preston in the north-west.

It ranked third in the most recent ID10 largest UK independent used car dealers, behind Big Motoring World and Motorpoint, with almost £400m revenue.

“Close to four years ago now, I’m proud to say I took over the role of CEO and was first tasked with managing the integration of the Aramis Group operating system in to the UK business. In the last 12 to 18 months we have really been looking to accelerate that integration with the group and today I’m really proud to be sharing the latest aspect of that, our shared visual identity,”.said chief executive Matt Barrick, in a LinkedIn post.

“The whole business has pulled together to deliver on this important first day, with our rebranded website and 3 of our 12 stores having external rebrands completed already, as well as some interior work started.”

Barrick said the remaining sites would be completed over the next five months, plus one new one will open, and potentially a second.

“It’s a really proud moment for me and the whole team. But this is just the start. Looking good is great, and a good base to build from. But our ambitions are bigger than that. There will be more to come. Much, much more.”
