Motor retail veteran begins new career as Member of Parliament

One of the new Members of Parliament to be sworn in at the House of Commons since last week’s general election is motor retail industry veteran Perran Moon MP.

Moon has spent more than 15 years in senior marketing roles with a variety of automotive businesses. Between 2004 and 2013 he was marketing director firstly at Manheim UK and then at Auto Trader, before working as consultant and contractor with the likes of WeWantAnyCar and ClickMechanic.

Early in his career he worked with Nissan and Renault.

The newly elected MP for Camborne, Redruth & Hayle in Cornwall also recently held senior positions with two businesses connected with the UK’s transition to electric vehicles, Zapmap and charge point operator Believ.

Born in Redruth, and a member of the Labour party, Moon campaigned on several priorities, including opportunities to create jobs in the ‘green economy’.
