“I know how critical aftersales is….not just to the bottom line, but to the entire customer journey. That’s why I’m genuinely excited to be stepping back into a group aftersales role, especially at a time when the industry is facing lots of uncertainty and challenges,” Tonks wrote on LinkedIn.

“Yes, the road ahead won’t be without its challenges. The rise of EV adoption, evolving customer expectations, and AI’s role in aftersales are all shaking up the landscape.

“But rather than shy away from them, we’re going to embrace them head-on….finding smarter, more innovative ways to keep delivering exceptional customer experiences and satisfaction. I can’t wait to get started and be part of the next phase of growth at Pentagon.”

A highly respected aftersales expert, Tonks was a director of Inchcape Retail for six years until he joined Marshall in 2009 to oversee its aftersales performance.

Although he left the top 10 AM100 group after five years he returned to it in 2019 to again head its parts, aftersales, bodyshop and CRM functions until 2023.
