Lloyd Motor Group has announced the acquisition of the Volkswagen dealership in Carlisle from Lookers.
The dealership will operate as Lloyd Volkswagen Carlisle, and will continue to trade from its Auchinleck Drive site.
With the acquisition, 33 staff have transferred to Lloyd Motor Group, and ten more roles have been created through an immediate recruitment drive.

The deal expands the company’s involvement with Volkswagen Group, which also includes Lloyd Volkswagen West Cumbria and Lloyd Škoda Carlisle.
Group expanding during milestone year
The addition of Volkswagen Carlisle also continues a wider period of growth at the start of 2026 which has included acquiring the BMW Motorrad franchise in Blackpool and opening a new Geely dealership in Newcastle.
Lloyd Motor Group now represents 13 manufacturer brands, runs 43 dealerships and service centres, and employs more than 1,700 staff.
