The JAECOO 7 has become the most-configured vehicle on Carwow during the first five weeks of Q2 this year, generating 34% more enquiries to UK retailers than the platform’s second most-configured model.

Launched in the UK in November 2024, the Jaecoo 7, which is available as a petrol or plug-in hybrid model, now ranks as the third most-configured car on Carwow for the year-to-date.

Since the start of April, it has attracted more than double the number of configurations as the Hyundai Tucson, which ranks second. The BYD Seal U placed third in configurations for the same period.

Carwow attributed the Jaecoo 7’s recent performance to the brand’s focused marketing efforts and broader brand visibility in the UK.

In April, the model also entered Carwow’s top 10 most-viewed car reviews, ranking eighth overall.

Other new entrants to the list include BYD and Omoda.

BYD’s Seal, Sealion 7, and Seal U claimed the first, second and fifth spots, while the Omoda 5 took sixth.

A recent Carwow user survey showed that 39% of respondents would consider buying a Chinese brand for their next car, up from 21% in 2023.

Additionally, 38% believe Chinese-made cars offer better value for money.

So far in 2025, Carwow has recorded a 28% increase in retailer enquiries compared with the same period last year.

Sepi Arani, Carwow’s managing director of media & commercial, said the platform had observed a shift in consumer behaviour and growing interest in new market entrants from China.

He noted that more Chinese OEMs are now focusing on brand identity and support infrastructure, rather than prioritising speed to market.

“The key to success in Europe is building a strong, distinctive brand identity,” said Arani. “We’re seeing a greater emphasis on aftersales support, market research, and customer engagement ahead of launch.”
