It’s a key time to look at driving more efficiencies with water with wholesaler rate increases, from April 2025, that sees many businesses facing additional costs – adding to the challenges faced.

How Water Plus is helping increase efficiencies – and cut running costs for businesses

The Water Plus team are working with customers on ways they can reduce wholesaler water costs – and look at ways to increase efficiencies around trade effluent to lower running costs.

A large facility has already seen a saving of £14,000, on wholesale water costs, delivered in 2025 after close partnership work and the knowledge of one of the Water Plus Key Account Managers, who alerted them to the opportunity. Areas for further efficiencies around trade effluent are also being looked at, in 2025, for the facility.

The Water Plus Advanced Services team are also installing more water tracking technology, in 2025, through services they can provide businesses.

A number of businesses in the hospitality industry, including large hotel chains and another multi-site with food outlets, that have added data loggers have seen these identify at least 12 locations with increased water use, in the last year. They were alerted by the Water Plus Advanced Services team to water leaks at sites, that data feeding into the online data logger portal had highlighted.

And Water Plus is also the only water retailer to be a Finalist for three UK Customer Satisfaction Awards in 2025, for helping customers manage their water more easily, effectively and efficiently.

*35 sites were expected to see a 39%, or higher, estimated water saving on average daily water use, after water efficiency kit installed through Water Plus, in 2024. Sites include pubs, sports clubs and village halls that can be hired for sports and community activities.

Water Plus has won 20 awards since October 2022, including a UK Customer Satisfaction Award for work with customers, in 2023.
