The owner of pickle brand Grillo’s on Thursday announced plans to establish a new production facility in southern Indiana.

Irresistible Foods Group — which also owns the King’s Hawaiian and Killer Brownie brands — said that Grillo’s has officially broken ground on the new 155,000-square-foot plant near Columbus, Indiana.

The facility, located next to a previously announced King’s Hawaiian bakery, would help meet “growing national demand” for the company’s pickles, officials said. It is expected to create 150 jobs.

“For our new production site, it was important to us to find a central U.S. location with a skilled workforce and supportive business environment, and we are very excited to be in Bartholomew County, Indiana,” Grillo’s President and CEO Adam Kaufman said in a statement.

The company is slated to receive $1.4 million in state tax incentives to support the project, along with $1 million in state funding for local infrastructure improvements and more than $3.7 million from local government sources.
