Grainger Motor Group has been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces 2026 by Great Place To Work, the authority on workplace culture.

The automotive retail group ranked 79th in the large company category, covering organisations with between 201 and 1,000 employees, in the annual Best Workplaces awards.

The accolade was announced at the Best Workplaces Awards ceremony held at Grosvenor House in London, with Grainger Motor Group the only car dealership group to appear in the top 100 of the large company category.

The ranking reflects confidential employee feedback collected through the Great Place To Work Trust Index survey.

According to the results, 83% of employees at Grainger Motor Group say it is a great place to work, compared with 54% of employees at a typical UK-based company.

Harry Grainger, managing director of Grainger Motor Group, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces by Great Place To Work, ranking 79th in the Large Company category. This recognition is particularly meaningful because it reflects the experiences of our colleagues and the culture they help create every day.

“At GMG, we firmly believe our people are our greatest asset, and this achievement is a testament to their commitment, collaboration and passion. I’d like to thank every member of the team for playing such an important role in making GMG a truly great place to work.”

Recognition driven by staff feedback

Great Place To Work assessed hundreds of employee survey responses alongside Culture Audit submissions from leadership teams to compile the 2026 UK’s Best Workplaces list.

The data was used to benchmark organisations’ employee value propositions against the actual workplace culture experienced by their staff, with only the highest scoring companies receiving Best Workplaces status.

Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place To Work UK, said: “The UK’s Best Workplaces excel in creating consistently great experiences for all employees through fostering high levels of trust, pride and camaraderie to fuel increased organisational performance.

“These crucial elements collectively contribute to creating cultures where employees feel they can truly be themselves and thrive in a supportive and caring environment. Congratulations to Grainger Motor Group for achieving a place on our 2026 UK’s Best Workplaces List.”
