Islands Energy Group has announced that residential and business customers in Jersey and Guernsey will experience an increase in gas supply charges due to “inflationary pressures”.
The new tariffs will take effect from 14th May 2024.
Customers of Guernsey Energy and Island Energy pay a fixed daily standing charge which is separate from the unit rate.
The fixed daily standing charge covers the cost of being connected to the energy network and helps maintain the gas network.
This charge will increase by 10%.
As a result, the average household will pay an additional four pence per day, £1.16 per month, or around £13.90 per year, according to the company.
