Some light hearted research says if you drive an EV you’re likely to be fitter than your petrol or diesel counterpart!

Research by Be.EV and sports chain Decathlon, found that EV drivers are more likely to engage in cardio-intensive sports than petrol and diesel drivers, with higher participation in swimming (57% vs 52%), running (51% vs 46%) and cycling (69% vs 61%).

They are also more likely to take up extreme sports, including skydiving and cold-water swimming.

Be.EV and Decathlon have partnered to open a new 16-bay ultra-rapid charging hub at Decathlon Wednesbury in the Midlands, supporting EV drivers who lead active lifestyles.

The site, strategically positioned off J9 of the M6, offers up to 165 miles of range in just 20 minutes, making it ideal for fitness enthusiasts and commuters.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO at Be.EV, said: “Too many charging providers put chargers in random locations that don’t serve anyone, so we’re happy that we’ve extended our partnership with Decathlon to serve the thrill-seeking members of our EV community.”

Chris Allen, Director of Sustainability at Decathlon, added: “With convenient charging points close to stores, EV drivers can explore over 70 sports under one roof, making every visit the perfect opportunity to try something new.”
