The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team has achieved 99% coverage of HVO100 biofuel across its 2025 European race and marketing truck logistics, marking a major milestone in its drive towards Net Zero.

The rollout, supported by Title and Technical Partner PETRONAS, builds on trials that began in 2022 and underscores the team’s commitment to sustainable performance.

Since the project’s inception, the use of HVO100 has helped the team avoid emitting over 1,190 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent across its European logistics operations.

HVO100, a second-generation drop-in biofuel, can deliver up to an 81% reduction in emissions compared with standard diesel, offering a cleaner and scalable solution for heavy-duty transport.

Alice Ashpitel, Head of Sustainability at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, said: “Every kilometre travelled using biofuel moves us closer to Net Zero by 2040, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable high performance.”

Building on this success, the team is exploring HVO100 usage at race locations beyond Europe and further expanding its use of the all-electric Mercedes-Benz Trucks e-fleet.

Following a pilot at the 2025 British Grand Prix, the eActros 600 completed its first long-distance journey from Brackley to Zandvoort, reducing lifecycle CO₂e emissions by up to 80%.
