Evans Halshaw has confirmed a £1.7 million investment to redevelop its Ford dealership in Cardiff into a dedicated Transit Centre, strengthening its commercial vehicle and fleet offer in South Wales.
The redevelopment will see the site repositioned as a specialist hub for Ford commercial vehicles, while retaining passenger car sales through a new dual showroom format.
Building work is under way and is scheduled for completion in May 2026. Existing Ford and Evans Halshaw customers can continue to access services during the refurbishment programme.
As part of the transition, five new roles have already been created at the Cardiff dealership, with recruitment ongoing for a further three positions.
Once complete, the site will feature a shared showroom for new Ford commercial and passenger vehicles, alongside an expanded external display for used commercial stock.
The investment is designed to support both retail and business users.
Aftersales capacity increased
Aftersales capacity is also being increased. Three additional commercial vehicle ramps will be installed next month, taking the total to five.
The expansion is intended to support faster workshop turnaround times, improved efficiency and full fleet maintenance capability.
The dealership has become an authorised Ford Transit Repair Centre, enabling it to carry out all Ford commercial vehicle warranty repairs.
The site continues to offer new and used Ford vehicle sales, servicing, MOTs and maintenance delivered by Ford trained technicians.
The workshop is also equipped to support Ford’s electrified commercial vehicle range, with three Ford Master Technicians on site, all EV trained.
The investment means Evans Halshaw Ford Cardiff is now the only Ford dealer in the city, offering a single location for sales, servicing and commercial vehicle support.
Amrit Bhogal, head of business at Evans Halshaw Ford Cardiff, said: “It is a proud moment to see such a major re-development of the Cardiff dealership, having worked in the Cardiff current market area for the past 26 years.
“It is fantastic to have commercial vehicles back on site for both sales and service, while also expanding the team to support the continued growth of the business.
“There is a real sense of excitement across the site from both our colleagues and our customers as they watch the re-development progress.
“This investment allows us to better serve businesses across Cardiff and South Wales with improved facilities, increased capacity and specialist expertise.”
