The Energy Trust has been appointed to deliver a suite of training courses as part of Phase 1 of the Warm Homes Skills Programme (WHSP), the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has confirmed.

The programme will provide high-quality, Ofqual-registered qualifications aligned with PAS 2035 and PAS 2038, equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills to improve the energy efficiency of domestic and non-domestic buildings.

This is part of the UK’s broader strategy to achieve net zero.

Training opportunities will cover multiple disciplines, including domestic retrofit assessment, retrofit coordination and risk management, energy efficiency for older and traditional buildings, introductory retrofit qualifications and non-domestic energy assessment.

Richard Elton, Director of Energy Trust, said: “We are delighted to have been selected to deliver this vital programme. The Warm Homes Skills Programme will not only help people access rewarding careers in retrofit and energy assessment but will also directly contribute to improving the energy efficiency of homes and buildings across the country. This is an investment in skills, communities and a greener future.”

The programme will run from September 2025 to July 2026, offering training opportunities nationwide to ensure broad access and impact.

By providing accredited courses, Energy Trust aims to strengthen the UK’s workforce in energy efficiency and retrofit, supporting the government’s climate and energy goals.
