Ed Jones is back at Nissan after seven years with Audi UK, stepping into the role of sales director as the Japanese brand accelerates momentum ahead of its latest electric and e-Power model launches.

“I’m thrilled to return at such an exciting time,” said Jones. “Nissan was the only brand with two models in the top five best-sellers in 2024. With increased market share and double-digit sales growth, it’s a brand on the rise in 2025.”

“With Nissan’s rich heritage in innovation, I’m excited to help drive forward new technologies and an impressive range of electric and electrified vehicles. I look forward to working with colleagues across the brand and retailer network.”

Jones’ return comes in the same week that AM confirmed that James Taylor – a 20-year veteran of Stellantis-owned Vauxhall – has taken on the role of Nissan UK’s managing director.

After seven years with Audi UK, where he led national contract hire and leasing and later UK sales operations, Jones brings a wealth of experience in sales, dealer operations, fleet management, and deep EV product knowledge.

During his previous tenure with Nissan GB, he rapidly climbed the ranks, achieving significant success across sales and marketing.

Jones’ arrival aligns with Nissan’s preparation for the launch of the new British-built LEAF, set to join Qashqai and Juke as pillars of Nissan’s UK operations.

Mayra González, divisional vice president of marketing and sales Europe, welcomed Jones back to the team: “Ed’s experience and expertise in UK sales will be invaluable as we capitalise on exciting new product launches. He will help accelerate our business transformation and lead our sales and dealer teams to continued success.”

Jones replaces Michael Auliar, who is leaving at the end of March to pursue another opportunity.

“We thank Michael for his significant contribution to Nissan across the UK, Nordics, and regional HQ, and wish him well in his future endeavours,” said González.
