E.ON and Sheffield’s homelessness charity The Archer Project have agreed to collaborate on new green skills and employment initiatives across the city.

The partnership will draw on E.ON’s plans to expand its district heating network and wider energy solutions work to create training and volunteering opportunities.

The Archer Project, based at Sheffield Cathedral, supports people experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives.

Both organisations aim to ensure fair access to emerging green jobs while strengthening sustainability and energy resilience locally.

Jean Michel Bellas, Strategic Relationship Lead at E.ON, said: “Our collaboration with the Archer Project is designed to be another part of our commitment to inclusivity and fair access to opportunities in the growing green energy sector.”

E.ON will also advise the centre on low carbon solutions such as solar panels and heat pumps to help improve efficiency and reduce emissions.

This support forms part of its broader ambition to advance sustainable energy across Sheffield.

Joe Logan, Head of Fundraising at The Archer Project, said: “This collaboration gives us the opportunity to explore new ways of creating positive change across our community.”

Over the coming months, both organisations will work together to design training programmes and create volunteering opportunities for E.ON staff.
